Leicester confirmed seven players and three members of staff did not travel to Naples yesterday because they had tested positive for COVID-19.

“We come here confident we can get the result that will take us through,” Rodgers told BT Sport.

“Naturally players not being available disrupts us and it has been a complicated build-up but we have some top players coming back as well.”

Leicester City in COVID tests row ahead of Napoli game

A draw would be enough for Leicester to qualify top of their Europa League group, but it’s an incredibly tight situation, as Napoli and Spartak Moscow are one point behind, with Legia Warsaw only two points adrift.

Patson Daka has scored five goals in five Europa League games this season, but he is initially benched in favour of Jamie Vardy.

“Both players have attributes that are very similar in that they can run in behind, it is going to be about the combination of both players through the season.

“Jamie starts but if we have to bring Patson on they can complement each other.”
