Lazio legend Tommaso Rocchi is delighted to be back in the game after signing a short-term contract with Padova.

The Serie B club have picked up the 36-year-old on a free transfer after his agreement at Inter expired in the summer.

“I’ve been working with a fitness trainer since July 1, but I do lack match fitness and an understanding with my new teammates,” the veteran noted.

“But I was desperate to get back on the field of play and Padova were the side who had shown the most interest in me since the summer.

“They believed in my capabilities.”

Rocchi spent almost a decade at Lazio after leaving Empoli in 2004. He joined Inter in January where he scored three goals in 13 League games.
