Robinho hopes “this can be my year and that of Milan,” after renewing his contract with the San Siro giants.
The striker had been on the verge of a transfer to Santos, but it collapsed due to financial considerations, so he signed a new deal on reduced wages to June 2016.
“I am happy to know that the club wanted to renew my contract. Now I hope this can be my year and that of Milan,” he said in a Press conference.

“This year also becomes important for me and the World Cup. I had already said that Milan are a team you should play for over 10 years.”
Robinho was speaking to the media ahead of tonight’s friendly against Valencia at the Mestalla, which kicks off at 19.00 UK time.
“Playing against Valencia is difficult, as the stadium is wonderful and the crowd are fired up. It will be important to do well this evening.
“There is always the desire to win at Milan, so even if this is a summer pre-season tournament, our objective is always the same: victory.”
