Roberto Mancini and Saudi Arabia have officially parted ways, as the coach’s contract was terminated by mutual consent on Thursday.

The former Azzurri manager joined the Saudi national team only a few weeks after resigning as manager of Italy in July 2023.

However, Mancini only picked up seven wins from his 18 games in charge of the team, with an extremely disappointing Asian Cup campaign that saw Saudi Arabia eliminated by South Korea in the round-of-16 last January.

Official: Roberto Mancini and Saudi Arabia part ways

An official statement issued by the Saudi Federation on Thursday confirmed that they have ‘reached a mutual agreement’ to terminate Roberto Mancini’s contract as coach of their national team.

The Saudi Federation were unhappy with the team’s recent performances and they were reportedly willing to sack Mancini, as reported by multiple sources in recent days.

Mancini’s last game in charge was a 0-0 home draw against Bahrain in a 2026 World Cup qualifier, during which the manager was seen arguing with fans in the stands.

  1. Good. Come back to Serie A. But, I don’t to what club? Go to Salernitana in Serie B and help them back to Serie A. 😛
