Roberto Carlos was confused as to why the race to sign Paulo Dybala on a free transfer isn’t fiercer.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward will leave Juventus when his contract expires with the club at the end of June, ending a seven-year stay in Turin. It’s still unclear where he’ll move in the summer, with clubs such as Tottenham and Inter both linked with him.

Speaking to DAZN, Roberto Carlos discussed Dybala’s qualities and why he should be signed by a top club.

“Paulo Dybala is world class. The top teams should bet on him, but you don’t know what goes on in these people’s heads. Dybala is a great striker. As they say in Portugal, the door is always open for him.”

The 28-year-old Dybala has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2100 minutes. In that time, he’s scored 13 goals and provided six assists, struggling with a number of minor injuries.

The news that the Argentinian will be leaving the club this summer has divided fans, with some frustrated that they’ll be losing their talisman whilst others are happy to usher in a new era in Turin.

  1. Yes, great player but only a great wallet can afford him and that’s one heck of a gamble with his susceptibility to injury. Real shame but after so many seasons, it’s not as though Juve were just trying to offload him.

  2. Dybala has declined drastically in years

Really 50-50 decision for juve because if the remembered that 2 years ago, he can be sold for more than 100 million euros and now will go for nothing
    So it’s 50-50 decision

  3. Losing Paulo Dybala for free hurts as a Juventino. Yes, he is declined in the last 2 years due to several minor injuries. Let’s hope for a better Juventus without Paulo.
It is all about Money to afford him for the next 3-4 years of his career.

  4. Hes definetly better than kulusevski so I think juve will regret this decision. Him and Cuadrado is the only creativity juve have

  5. Dybala is still just 28 years old, about to enter his prime.

I`m sure he will be extra motivated next season to prove his doubters wrong!

  6. Selling Dybala and keeping Allegri makes nosense. Allegri is the one who should leave for a good manager. Pirlo has done better as a rooki with no coaching expierence.
    Max is a disaster
