The Azzurri are only joint leaders with Switzerland of their group because Jorginho fired a penalty over the bar in stoppages for their 1-1 draw on Friday.

That was the third consecutive failed conversion for Jorginho in the Italy jersey, including shoot-outs.

“In case there is a penalty this evening, I would not let Jorginho take it,” Cagliari and Italy legend Riva told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Some errors can affect you psychologically. He will get back to taking them well, just as he had always done before, once he converts a penalty that is not so decisive.”

Other potential penalty takers in the Italy squad this evening are Leonardo Bonucci, Lorenzo Insigne and Domenico Berardi.
