Milan could look to bolster their midfield options with Marco Rigoni after Novara were relegated from the top flight.

The 32-year-old was one of his side’s success stories in a difficult campaign for the Stadio Silvio Piola outfit.

Rigoni, who started his professional career at Juventus, scored 11 goals in 35 games for the Piedmont side this term.

The Diavolo will lose numerous midfielders with Gennaro Gattuso and Mark Van Bommel already leaving, while there are doubts over Clarence Seedorf, Alberto Aquilani and Mathieu Flamini.

Novara boss Attilio Tesser this week claimed that Rigoni deserved to be part of Italy’s preliminary 32-man squad for Euro 2012.
