Sampdoria are reportedly close to both Zenit’s Emiliano Rigoni and Fiorentina striker Giovanni Simeone, on loan with option to buy.

According to Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb, negotiations are down to the details for Rigoni following today’s meeting with the Russian club.

It would be a loan with option to buy, that becomes an obligation once he has played a certain number of games.

This is a return to Serie A after Rigoni’s disappointing six months with Atalanta last year.

That isn’t the only Sampdoria investment, because La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia claim Fiorentina striker Simeone will be in Genoa on Thursday to complete his transfer too.

Simeone has been dropped down the pecking order in Florence this summer and is ready to move to Samp on loan with obligation to buy for €15m.

He has a four-year contract lined up worth €1.4m per season.

Cholito is the second choice for Samp, but Roma's Gregoire Defrel has seemingly accepted a move to Sassuolo instead.

The former Genoa striker had also been linked with Cagliari.
