Richarlison stunner lets Brazil break Milinkovic-Savic’s Serbia

It took a lot to beat Torino and Serbia goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, but Richarlison did it with a brace for Brazil, including what will probably be the best goal of the 2022 World Cup.

The shot-stopper made a series of saves and was rescued twice by the woodwork from Casemiro and Juventus defender Alex Sandro.

He also got his glove to a Vinicius Junior strike, which Richarlison turned in on the rebound from close range.

The goal of the tournament came soon after, an acrobatic bicycle kick after flicking up a Vinicius cross from the left, giving Milinkovic-Savic no chance.

Dusan Vlahovic came off the bench for Serbia, but the Juventus striker was still visibly not fully fit with that recurring groin inflammation.

There were plenty of Serie A players on show in this 2-0 Brazil victory, including Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and Juve veteran Danilo.

However, Brazil were worried because Neymar went off injured in the second half after badly spraining his ankle under a Milenkovic tackle.

He was pictured in tears sitting on the bench as medics wrapped an ice pack around the ankle.
