Salernitana star Franck Ribery could announce his retirement at a press conference next week, reports La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The ex-France international has been dealing with a knee issue since the start of the season.

He only played 36 minutes in the opening Serie A clash against Roma but was not able to feature again for the Granata after that.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, his poor physical condition could convince Ribery to hang his boots in the middle of the campaign.

The pink paper reports that the ex-Bayern Munich star could announce his retirement during a press conference with Salernitana President Danilo Iervolino next week.

If Ribery retires, he could still remain at the club, becoming their ‘ambassador’ in the world.

Ribery spent two seasons at Fiorentina, scoring seven goals in 51 appearances before his move to Salernitana in 2021-22. His contract was automatically extended following the Granata’s incredible survival last season.
