Franck Ribery tested negative for COVID-19 and is ready to resume training with Fiorentina for the first time since his ankle surgery in December.

The 37-year-old completed his 14-day quarantine after returning to Florence from Munich and it’s reported today’s swab test came back negative.

He was present at the Davide Astori training ground this afternoon for a series of medical and fitness tests.

Ribery is expected to begin training over the next few days, although social distancing must be maintained until May 18.

The two-month break in the season caused by the coronavirus pandemic has effectively allowed Ribery time to fully recovery from his ankle surgery.

Before the injury, he had scored two goals with two assists in 11 Serie A appearances for the Viola.
