Franck Ribery could well remain in Serie A, as the free agent is in negotiations with Hellas Verona.
The link had already been mentioned earlier today, with Ribery considering proposals from both Verona and Turkish side Karagumruk.
The deadline has passed in Serie A, but players can still sign for clubs if they are free agents.
Ribery was not offered a new contract at Fiorentina and his deal expired on June 30, though he had said he was eager to remain in Italy after two years at the Stadio Franchi.
According to Sky Sport Italia this evening, the 38-year-old is now genuinely leaning towards a new experience at Hellas Verona.
It would be a one-year contract with the Serie A side at the Stadio Bentegodi.
Ribery made 29 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season, with two goals and seven assists.
Verona were very active on transfer deadline day, selling Mattia Zaccagni to Lazio and bringing in Gianluca Caprari on loan from Sampdoria.

Verona could benefit massively if Ribery manages to stay fit, injury free. I wish him well.
