Ionut Radu’s costly error against Bologna infuriated Inter fans, some of whom have apologised to Samir Handanovic on social media.
The Romania international cost Inter the victory at the Stadio Dall’Ara yesterday and his error could be a decisive one in the title race. Radu’s ball control was so bad that he kicked it back towards his goal, allowing Nicola Sansone to put the ball inside an empty net.
Radu left the pitch in tears, knowing how crucial his mistake could be in the race for the title.
Inter fans have been very critical of Samir Handanovic over the last few years, accusing him of not being reactive enough. The former Udinese man had been forced to the sidelines against Bologna due to abdomen contracture and after yesterday’s game, many Inter apologised to the 37-year-old on social media.
Handanovic’s contract expires at the end of the season and the Nerazzurri will likely offer him a new deal despite the signing of André Onana, who will move to the Stadio Meazza on a free transfer from Ajax.
