According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Roma and Galatasaray are very close to an agreement, so Nicolò Zaniolo could fly out to Istanbul tomorrow.

The transfer window in Turkey remains open until Wednesday, but inevitably the negotiations had to take a back seat today after a devastating earthquake killed thousands in the country.

Nonetheless, talks have still managed to continue via intermediaries and Galatasaray have been able to match the improved offer from Fenerbahce.

That should be roughly €22m including add-ons, but most importantly for the player, include a release clause set at circa €30-35m that is valid for clubs from Italy.

It should allow Zaniolo to return to Serie A in the summer, most likely for Milan, the side he wanted to join in January.

Sportitalia maintain the release clause is closer to €35m, so Zaniolo has so far been unable to haggle it down.

He already agreed personal terms a few days ago at €3.6m per season, facing the prospect of spending the next six months in the stands after being frozen out by Roma.
