Milan had been working to bring in Taison on transfer deadline day, despite Shakhtar’s insistence on only selling him for his €30m release clause.

Gazzetta goes into more detail, explaining Milan refused to pay so much for a player who turned 31 earlier in the year.

The Rossoneri are certain of taking at least one attacker today as Ante Rebic is in the process of finalising his two-year loan with option to buy from Eintracht Frankfurt.
