Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart are reportedly interested in striking a deal with Atalanta for club-record signing El Bilal Toure as a potential replacement for Serhou Guirassy, who has recently joined Borussia Dortmund.

Stuttgart talk with Atalanta over Toure signing

Representatives from Atalanta and Stuttgart were in contact on Thursday to discuss the possibilities surrounding the deal, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio on Thursday evening.

Atalanta paid a club-record fee in the region of €30m to bring Toure over to Bergamo from Almeira in LaLiga last summer, but Italy international Gianluca Scamacca, who is currently occupying the starting striker role under Gian Piero Gasperini, was also brought in a week later.

Toure got off to a rough start to life at the Gewiss Stadium, suffering a major hamstring injury just after his arrival. That injury would ultimately keep him out of action until February.

Still, he recovered and eventually made 17 appearances for La Dea across Serie A, the Europa League and Coppa Italia.
