German newspaper BILD claims that agent Mino Raiola is in intensive care at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan with a pulmonary condition.

The 54-year-old had gone into the hospital on January 12, with reports he was brought in for emergency surgery.

A statement from his personnel insisted it was not an emergency and rather tests that required he be put under anaesthetic.

However, BILD claimed this afternoon that Raiola’s condition had deteriorated and he was in serious condition in the intensive care ward.

Raiola is the most recognisable agent in world football and represents the likes of Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt and Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

He had been a regular in transfer market headlines, particularly around the future of Pogba and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Raiola was born in Italy and moved to the Netherlands as a child, beginning his work in football as an interpreter before becoming perhaps the most influential representative in the sport.
