Multiple sources report that Adrien Rabiot has decided to extend his contract with Juventus, taking a significant pay cut from the salary Manchester United were offering.

The midfielder will be a free agent when his current deal expires on June 30 and he had been fielding proposals from several clubs, above all the Old Trafford team.

According to Sky Sport Italia, L’Equipe, Sportitalia and more, Rabiot is down to the details when it comes to agreeing a new contract with Juventus.

It will be a one-year deal, with the same salary that he is on currently, and that is significantly less than Manchester United were ready to offer.

It also means Rabiot is taking a year out from the Champions League, standing by Juve despite their 10-point Serie A penalty dropping them down from third to seventh place this season.

He has a strong bond with coach Max Allegri, but the French reports also suggest Rabiot saw more stability at Juventus than Manchester United.

The date of the signature is likely to be Wednesday.
