Multiple sources are reporting today that Victor Osimhen has completely agreed the contract extension at Napoli until June 2026 with a release clause at €130m.

Sky Sport Italia, Gazzetta dello Sport, Fabrizio Romano and others all have the same details, that the agreement has been completely written up and is just waiting for the Nigerian striker’s signature.

This is going to vastly increase his current salary to €10m per season after tax, but above all add a release clause valid only for clubs outside Italy for circa €130m.

According to some suggestions, in order to make the finances work out and save 75% on the taxes for this salary, Napoli plan to sell Osimhen in the summer of 2024, as the Growth Decree benefits are set to expire.

The centre-forward was signed from LOSC in September 2020 for €75m plus bonuses and was decisive in securing the club’s first Scudetto in over 30 years.

He became the first ever African to be Capocannoniere of Serie A and was recently named African Player of the Year.
