According to reports in Italy, Hellas Verona agreed a €10m fee with Aston Villa for Cyril Ngonge, but the striker is not eager on this transfer and would prefer Fiorentina.
It was known that the forward was a target for Premier League side Villa and Tuttomercatoweb insist Verona are happy to sell at €10m, especially as they picked him up as a free agent from FC Groningen in January 2023.
The 23-year-old Belgian scored a healthy five goals with two assists in 17 Serie A appearances so far this season.
However, the same source also claims that Ngonge has put the brakes on the move to Aston Villa, as he is not entirely convinced by the destination.
Fiorentina have also shown a strong interest and it is suggested Ngonge would prefer the Viola.
Verona are active on the market when whittling down their squad, having already sold defender Isak Hien to Atalanta, while Martin Hongla is heading towards Spanish side Granada.
Filippo Terracciano is said to be close to joining Milan and defender Koray Gunter is wanted by Serie B outfit Como.
