According to reports in France, Napoli have agreed terms with RB Salzburg for central defender Oumar Solet, but still need to negotiate with the player.

Footmercato maintain the two clubs have shaken hands on the deal, so now they will be given the all-clear to talk directly to his agent.

The former France Under-20 international will turn 24 next month and his contract with RB Salzburg only runs to June 2025.

However, Sky Sport Italia claim Napoli want some guarantees on the loan with option to buy, as they are concerned at his numerous injury problems.

Solet is a product of the Stade Lavallois youth academy, moving on through Olympique Lyonnais until the €4.5m transfer to RB Salzburg in July 2020.

He made 13 competitive appearances so far this season, also contributing one goal and one assist.

The Partenopei have been very active on the transfer market in January to bolster the squad after a dismal start to the season.

They already signed Pasquale Mazzocchi from Salernitana, Hamed Junior Traore on loan with an option to buy from Bournemouth, while today Cyril Ngonge had his medical for a €20m including bonuses switch from Hellas Verona.
