According to reports in Italy, Lazio have accepted a €3m offer from Besiktas to sell their captain and star striker Ciro Immobile.

The original asking price had been up to €10m, it lowered to €5m last night and Sky Sport Italia now suggest the deal has been done for just €3m.

It is claimed that Immobile helped it get over the line by accepting a lower salary if it meant ensuring the transfer went through.

Immobile wanted Besiktas move

The 34-year-old had grown increasingly uneasy at the Stadio Olimpico, frustrated that some of the fans turned against him after so many years of strong performances and loyalty.

His current contract was due to run until June 2026 and he joined from Sevilla in the summer of 2016, so departs after eight years in Rome.

Immobile played 340 competitive games for the Biancocelesti, scoring 207 goals and providing 54 assists.

He was meant to have a pre-season medical yesterday and did not attend, confirming his desire to force through the transfer to Turkey.

  1. If true and he is going, I am sad but I can say absolutely nothing negative about Ciro, he is a living legend for us Laziale and I must thank him from the bottom of my heart for everything he did.

Grande Ciro I wish you all the best and achieve something nice with Besiktas!

  2. Could have sold him to the Saudi Pro League last season for way more, now settles for 3 million. Nice going Lotito. Sad negotiating and sad ending to his career at Lazio.
