There are mixed reports in Spain suggesting Inter could be in negotiations to bring in Jordi Alba on loan from Barcelona, but Simone Inzaghi still wants Francesco Acerbi.
Diario AS and blogger Gerard Romero pointed towards the possibility of Alba making the move to San Siro.
It would be a loan deal, with the Blaugrana covering 60 per cent of his salary.
The 33-year-old left-back has not made a decision, nor given any response, and Mundo Deportivo insist any talks are at a very early stage.
Sky Sport Italia see Barcelona trying to release Jordi Alba because they have a deal with Chelsea to bring in Marcos Alonso in an exchange with striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
It would only be as an alternative should Bayer Leverkusen go in for Robin Gosens.
Meanwhile, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi continues to openly demand the club remove the block on Acerbi, who is waiting to join on loan from Lazio.
Inzaghi made it very clear he needs another centre-back in the squad, but President Steven Zhang does not want to raise the wage bill even more.
An alternative could be Dan-Axel Zagadou, who is a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund.
This evening, PSG coach Christophe Galtier again spoke about signing Milan Skriniar from Inter.

^ agree – he’s on too high wages at barca unless he had to reduce them, but inter should look for someone else – this guy 33yrs old – simple thats too old for a full back – got to be young an energetic to play on either side
Once Gosens returns to shape and dorm, he will be twice as better as Alba.
Alba is a theatrical little man. He might do good, but In spite of him having good qualities I would prefer a strong Gosens returning to old ways. I really don’t like the small guys like Alba or Theo Hernandez who rolls around after the least amount of psysical contact. Keep those kind of people out of Inter, please.
A coach like Conte could get Gosens to form so easily. Easier than what he did to Perisic. What is Inzaghi doing?
