Multiple reports state Gonzalo Higuain has terminated his contract with Juventus, but it will only be made official once he signs for Inter Miami.

The 32-year-old is not part of new coach Andrea Pirlo’s plans and acknowledged the need to leave as a free agent with one year left to run on his contract, rather than try to negotiate a transfer fee.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Tuttosport and others, that deal has now been reached and he didn’t participate in training today.

There are claims he has already started the journey to North America, where he’ll sign with Inter Miami until 2022.

It’s believed Pipita will receive just under 50 per cent of the salary he would’ve had in the final season of his contract, which will come out to circa €4m.

However, Juve will only announce it when Higuain is ready to sign for his next club, expected to be David Beckham’s Inter Miami.

He will reunite with another ex-Juve player, as Blaise Matuidi also terminated his contract early to join the MLS side last month.

It will allow him to be closer to his brother, Federico, who plays for DC United.

Juventus activated the €90m release clause in Higuain’s contract to take him from Napoli in 2016, just days after he had set the all-time Serie A record for 36 goals in a single season.

The Argentine won three Serie A titles and two editions of the Coppa Italia in the Bianconeri jersey.

He was also loaned out to Milan and then Chelsea in the 2018-19 campaign.
