Former Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina coach Gennaro Gattuso has reportedly signed a two-year contract at Valencia.

The official Valencia radio station had announced over the last couple of days that negotiations were taking place in Singapore, where club owner Peter Lim is staying.

Gattuso was accompanied by his agent Jorge Mendes, who in turn is due to pack the squad with his clients.

According to Sky Sport Italia and El Chiringuito, the paperwork has now been signed with a two-year contract worth circa €3m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

The 44-year-old spent most of his playing career at Milan and went into management straight away after retirement in 2013.

He had experiences at FC Sion, Palermo, OFI Crete, Pisa and the Milan youth academy before stepping up to the senior Rossoneri bench from November 2017 to May 2019.

Rino replaced Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli from December 2019 to June 2021.

Last summer he had been announced as the new coach of Fiorentina, but then left two weeks later by mutual consent following rows over the transfer strategy, specifically the players that Jorge Mendes wanted to bring in.
