According to reports in Italy, Everton have agreed a fee of circa €30m to purchase Udinese striker Norberto Beto Betuncal, known as Beto.

The initial proposal worth €25m had been rejected earlier this week and the asking price was believed to be closer to €35m.

However, Tuttomercatoweb insist the two clubs have been able to reach an agreement splitting it down the middle at €30m.

Sky Sport Italia assure there are also add-ons, taking the total closer to the €35m.

It is suggested the situation is so advanced that Beto could be on Merseyside to have his medical tests on Saturday.

The 25-year-old centre-forward was purchased from Portimonense in the summer of 2021, on an initial loan with obligation to buy for €7m.

It won’t be a massive profit, however, because as part of that deal Udinese still owe his old club 50 per cent of the sell-on fee.

The Friulani will nonetheless stand to make a profit of €8m from the striker.

He had already made two appearances for Udinese this season between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, contributing a goal and an assist.

Last term, he found the net 10 times in 33 Serie A games for the club.
