With Antonio Conte dropping repeated hints he will leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season, an Italian reporter claims he will replace Jose Mourinho at Roma.

The former Juventus and Inter coach is increasingly frustrated with the club strategy at Spurs and the Champions League Round of 16 exit to Milan only exacerbated the tension.

It has been reported many times that Conte is also looking for a return to Italy so that he can be closer to his family, having been dealt several personal losses in recent months.

According to Inter commentator Christian Recalcati, there is a very specific club waiting for Conte.

“I am hearing that Antonio Conte could return to Italy, but with Roma as his destination, as they were already close to that marriage a few years ago!”

It is not the first time that Conte has been associated with a potential move to the Giallorossi, as he was said to be the target before they opted for Mourinho.

While Conte is pushing for the exit from Tottenham, it is also fair to say that Mourinho’s situation at Roma is not very stable either.

Mou has been repeatedly complaining at the lack of resources compared to his former clubs, despite winning the Europa Conference League last season.

  1. What a pile of steaming nonsense. First of all Mourinho will honour his contract and secondly nobody in Rome want Conte. Mourinho will rightly be frustrated with the ridiculous FFP restrictions preventing us from strengthening our squad, but not by our lack of resources.
