Just as Inter had increased their proposal for Benjamin Pavard, it is reported the defender will instead be staying at Bayern Munich.

According to Sky Sports Deutschland, the negotiations have been abandoned this evening with the club slamming the door on any potential exit.

The Nerazzurri had raised their offer to a reported €25m plus €5m in bonuses, these were the figures given by Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia.

German sources had suggested it was €30m plus add-ons and that the asking price was €40m with added performance-related bonuses.

Again, the Italian version was closer to Bayern Munich asking for €30m plus bonuses.

In any case, the report coming from Florian Plettenburg tonight insists that Pavard is staying and therefore likely to negotiate a new contract with Bayern Munich.

His current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and he had also attracted interest from Manchester United this summer.

If he does not sign a new deal, then he could leave as a free agent next summer.

Sky Sport Italia maintain Inter have not yet been informed of this sudden change in situation.

  1. Should sign for AC Milan instead. With the French contingent already at Milan would suit Pavard. It won’t happen though. Milan consentrate more on younger profiles. Anyhoo Unlucky Inter! I ain’t gloating!
