Reports Atalanta’s Freuler all set for Nottingham Forest

Sky Sport Italia claim that Atalanta and Nottingham Forest have agreed terms for the transfer of Remo Freuler.

The Switzerland international is rumoured to have pushed for the move, feeling an era in Bergamo has come to a close.

It is reported the deal is worth €9m plus add-ons for the 30-year-old midfielder.

Freuler had only recently signed a new contract with Atalanta in May 2022, so that will run to June 2025.

Sportitalia had also reported earlier today that Freuler turned down the transfer to Nottingham Forest, but that the situation was still open.

He first joined La Dea in January 2016 from FC Luzern and as part of that €2.1m deal, the Swiss side are owed a 15 per cent cut of the future transfer fee.

In total, Freuler has made 259 competitive appearances in the Atalanta jersey, contributing 20 goals and 23 assists.

Nottingham Forest have just earned promotion into the Premier League and have been spending big this summer, bringing in the likes of Neco Williams from Liverpool, Jesse Lingard and Dean Henderson from Manchester United, plus Orel Mangala, Taiwo Awoniyi, Moussa Niakhate and Omar Richards from the Bundesliga.
