Atalanta are hoping to negotiate a form of discount with Milan over a possible outright purchase of Belgian attacker Charles De Ketelaere, who spent the 2023-24 season on loan with La Dea.

Atalanta and Milan stances on De Ketelaere

The 23-year-old joined Atalanta on loan with an option to buy for a reported sum of just over €22m last summer, having joined Milan permanently from Club Brugge for €36.5m the year prior.

Atalanta paid Milan a fee of €3m to take the Belgian on loan for the 2023-24 season.

According to Calciomercato.com, De Ketelaere’s amortised value to Milan will stand at €21.97m by June 30.

The Italian outlet also suggests that Atalanta will look to renegotiate the figures they had originally agreed with Milan in mid-August of 2023.

Recent reports suggest that Atalanta have no doubts about signing the player permanently, but they would ideally like to bring him in as cheaply as possible.

For Milan, however, selling De Ketelaere at a sum lower than €21.97m would mean a capital loss on their balance sheets.
