The newspaper claims sources close to the owners claims the statement, made by Zhang Jindong in front of over 100,000 Suning employees who were returning to work after the Chinese New Year holidays, was a reference to the Chinese territory and not abroad.

The denials were aimed at quashing the intensified speculation concerning the club’s future after the statement about ‘closing and cutting down business irrelevant to retail business’.
