Gian Piero Ventura has agreed a two-year contract with Chievo after Lorenzo D’Anna was sacked today, report Sky Sport Italia.

The 70-year-old took several hours to make a decision, as he was unsure about the initial proposal of a contract to the end of the season with an option for another year.

According to Sky Sport Italia this evening, Ventura has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

According to Sky Sport Italia this evening, Ventura has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

It is his first job since he was fired from the Italy bench in November 2017.

Ventura failed to get Italy to the 2018 World Cup, losing the play-off to Sweden.

His previous club positions were at the likes of Cagliari, Sampdoria, Udinese, Napoli, Verona, Pisa, Bari and Torino.
