Udinese were reportedly not convinced during Maxi Romero’s medical visit at Villa Stuart, stopping the Argentine’s move to Serie A from PSV Eindhoven.
SportItalia reports the 22-year-old attacker experienced problems during the required medical assessment ahead of a possible move to the Friuli.
The medical tests were completed two weeks ago and the results were not completely successful for Romero.
The PSV centre-forward has recovered from a serious knee injury and his current conditions are not convincing Udinese, who have proposed he can still join their pre-season training until July 20 for them to further evaluate his conditions.
But Romero doesn’t seem willing to accept such a proposal from Udine and SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla believes the operation will fall through.
The former Argentina U20 international moved to PSV from Velez Sarsfield in January 2018, but spent 2019-20 on loan at his former club. The striker was given one game in the Eredivisie 2020-21 and scored one goal in the process.
