There was trouble for Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior, with reports he will be charged with punching a man and resisting arrest after a public brawl.
According to the Secolo XIX newspaper, Kiwior was arguing with his girlfriend outside a nightclub in the city on December 26.
A young Moroccan man intervened, trying to defend the woman, but Kiwior then turned on him and punched the man in the face, sending him to the ground.
Police officers arrived on the scene and the defender allegedly pushed them away before he was held under caution.
It’s reported the police at the time opted against an immediate arrest, but could still press charges of assault and resisting arrest.
The 21-year-old is a Poland Under-21 international who joined Spezia from MSK Zilina last summer.
He has made five Serie A appearances and one in the Coppa Italia so far this season under Spezia coach Thiago Motta.
