Maurizio Sarri has signed the Lazio contract and an announcement is imminent, according to Il Messaggero, Sportitalia, Gazzetta dello Sport and more.

The negotiations have been going on for over a week, but the deal was finally struck this afternoon.

It is believed to be a two-year deal worth €3m per season plus performance-related bonuses, which should take him to almost €4m if he qualifies for the Champions League.

Sarri had been out of work for a year, since his dismissal by Juventus, and was still under contract with the Bianconeri.

He won the Scudetto for Juve, while he lifted the Europa League for Chelsea in 2019.

The 62-year-old’s previous clubs include Empoli and Napoli, which is where his Sarriball style first gained prominence.

Lazio needed a replacement for Simone Inzaghi, who has taken over from Antonio Conte at Inter.
