According to both Sport Mediaset and Sky Sport Italia this evening, Everton have finally agreed to release Eto’o in exchange for performance-related bonuses.

The more goals and appearances he notches up for Sampdoria, the more the Toffees will make from the transfer. However, there will be no actual transfer fee.

There are even suggestions Eto'o has already boarded a flight to Genoa and will undergo his medical on Friday.

Samp expect to have Eto’o in the stands alongside President Massimo Ferrero for this weekend’s game against Palermo.

Ferrero declared yesterday that Sampdoria were delayed in completing the deal because "nobody can figure out who is in charge at Everton."

This evening President Ferrero sent an odd tweet written in rhyme and Roman slang, declaring "Here's EDO" – the way a Roman would mispronounce Eto'o.
