Cristiano Ronaldo has again tested positive for COVID-19, claim Sky Sport Italia, and therefore misses Juventus v Barcelona on Wednesday.

The Champions League match will kick off tomorrow at 20.00 GMT in Turin.

Ronaldo has been self-isolating since testing positive on October 13, while he was on international duty in Portugal, and returned to Turin on a private flight in accordance with the local authorities.

He was asymptomatic throughout, so all he required to be given the all-clear by UEFA was a negative COVID-19 swab at least 24 hours before kick-off.

There was also the requirement to provide a medical statement of no symptoms at least a week beforehand, which was already provided even though he was still testing positive last week.

However, Sky Sport Italia report this evening that the result of the latest swab was still positive for COVID-19.

The 35-year-old has not played since Portugal’s 0-0 draw with France on October 11.

Many had been looking forward to the revival of his battle with Lionel Messi.
