Roma are reportedly preparing a bumper new deal for Lorenzo Pellegrini worth €3m a year plus bonuses.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the new owner Dan Friedkin wants to keep the vice-captain at the Olimpico and is prepared to reward the midfielder by increasing his salary.

The 24-year-old Italy international played 27 games in Serie A 2019-20 and contributed one goal and 11 assists in the process.

The report claims Roma are preparing to meet with the player and his representatives at the beginning of 2020-21.

Pellegrini’s contract expires in June 2022, but the newspaper says the new owner wants to extend and is willing to give him a new deal worth €3m a season plus bonuses that can take the amount to €4m in total.
