Liverpool have reportedly rejected Roma’s offer of a loan with a conditional obligation to buy for defender Dejan Lovren.
Roma have gone back in for Lovren after they failed to agree a deal with Juventus for Daniele Rugani.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport, Coach Paulo Fonseca wants a quicker centre-back than Rugani, in the ilk of Kostas Manolas who joined Napoli.

However, the newspaper warns the Giallorossi are not totally convinced by the Croat’s physical condition and their proposal to sign him permanently after a certain number of appearances was thrown out.
It now remains to be seen how much longer the Reds are prepared to negotiate with Roma, given their previous reservations.
