Roma have decided the first choice for director of sport is current Lille chief Luis Campos, according to Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia expert Alfredo Pedullà.
There have been numerous candidates for the role, which has been empty since Gianluca Petrachi was fired, and has to be filled by new owners The Friedkin Group.
Pedullà now claims that after months of searching, Roma have chosen Campos to be their new director of sport.

It remains to be seen if Campos will accept, but he has been repeatedly on the verge of leaving Lille and reports in France maintain he is eager for a new challenge.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also shown interest in snapping up Campos to run their transfer campaigns.
