Roma have reportedly convinced former Juventus and Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri, and the two parties should meet in the coming days to define the future.

Il Corriere dello Sport claims Roma have managed to convince the Tuscan coach, but there’s a contractual knot that needs to be solved, as Sarri is still tied to Juventus until June 2022.

But the Bianconeri could terminate his deal one year early by paying a compensation worth €2.5m and, as Football Italia reported, the Giallorossi are the former Chelsea coach’s favourite destination.

The report from Il Corriere dello Sport reveals the club has chosen Sarri and the 62-year-old has chosen Roma.

The newspaper claims the two have a mutual intention of 'starting a fascinating journey together' and Tiago Pinto will soon meet Sarri’s agent to discuss future plans.

The Tuscan coach is reportedly convinced the squad is competitive and 'only needs a few tweaks', something the sporting director will start working on immediately.

The report claims Sarri wants to strengthen the team with four players, starting with the goalkeeper.

Pau Lopez has impressed in recent weeks, but the report believes Sarri wants a shot stopper who also knows how to play with his feet.

The coach would want a new full-back as well, as Bryan Reynolds has not shown that he’s ready to play at the top level.

Sarri also wants a midfielder like former Napoli star Jorginho and Tiago Pinto will reportedly do everything to find the best name to entrust with the role, whilst looking to sell the players currently on loan who are not part of the plans at Roma.

The last piece missing for Sarri is a goalscorer, as Roma haven’t scored enough goals with the two options available and Tiago Pinto will try to give the new coach a top striker.

Edin Dzeko seems set to leave, and Roma are reportedly hoping to replace him with either Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic or Torino captain Andrea Belotti.
