Roma are working hard to sign Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham and sporting director Tiago Pinto has reportedly continued the talks this morning.

After yesterday’s reports of progress in convincing the English striker to join the Giallorossi with a €6m-a-season deal including bonuses at the Olimpico, the Giallorossi director continues to push for a deal today.

Report: Chelsea’s Abraham now open to Roma move

La Repubblica suggested there has been a breakthrough for La Lupa in the negotiations with the 23-year-old and TMW reports Tiago Pinto continues to talk with Abraham’s entourage today.

There’s no definitive agreement, but the outlet claims Roma are confident of closing a deal at €40m.

Roma would pay €5m immediately and €35m over several years, with the player’s salary set at €5m a season plus bonuses until June 2026.

The Giallorossi can help finance the deal thanks to the tax break for anyone coming to work in Italy from abroad.

Previous reports revealed coach Jose Mourinho has talked to Abraham in person, hoping to help convince the youngster of a move to Italy.

  1. Now, even if he does sign, we know it’s only the money. To choose it over your boyhood club and familly too… speechless.

  2. What a waste of money.
You mean to tell me there isn’t an Italian youngster that can be promoted or brought in over this overrated and over priced ‘striker’.
So disappointed, with so many foreign players leaving its an opportunity to use home grown talent, instead we are seeing another load of over priced average talent being brought in to replace the over priced and average talent thats left or leaving.
