There are growing reports Antonio Conte is the new favourite for the Real Madrid job after Max Allegri returned to Juventus.
Sky Sport Italia had stated this evening that Conte was behind Raul and even Mauricio Pochettino in the running for the role.
Allegri had of course been the first choice, but by the time Zinedine Zidane had announced his departure, the Italian had already agreed a return to Juventus on a four-year contract.
According to Sportitalia, Real Madrid are now stepping up their talks with Conte and believe they can get a deal done relatively quickly.
Conte terminated his contract with Inter by mutual consent yesterday, having taken them to their first Serie A title since 2010.
He has also been linked with Tottenham and PSG, but would consider Real Madrid his preferred option.
