Il Corriere dello Sport claims Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has become a problem at San Siro, as his farewell seems imminent.

The solid and consistent Kessie has gone missing and the newspaper points at the performances in the Champions League and the recent Derby della Madonnina.

The report feels the ‘decisive player has become a problem’ and points at the uncertain future as a possible distraction for the Ivorian.

Kessie stressed he wanted to stay at Milan ‘for life’ over the summer but has not renewed with the club and continues to be linked with a move away from the Diavolo.

And his performances have changed too, with decisive errors in big games continues to halt the team’s progress on the pitch.

The outlet highlights how Kessie gave away a penalty in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday and was sent off in the big game against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Il Corriere dello Sport stressed how Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the player, while Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea have been mentioned as possible destinations.

The former Atalanta man continues to postpone the contract negotiations with the Rossoneri, who could be forced to enter talks with clubs already in January, to avoid losing the player on a free transfer.

  1. Can this please end? We need to sell him or let him go. Eitherway his head is not here anymore. Last year I would’ve gladly received a slap on my face for saying to sell him. But this campaign he has been horrific. You cannot give a penalty like that (and yes even if Ratanoglu did it first) but you just get yourself into a position like that. Also that red card still is haunting me against Atletico. Even more than that, he just is not decisive neither in going forward, staying back or staying central. I see no value in him remaining on the pitch, just a guy who completes the 11 players.
There is a lot of great talent out there who should be his replacement and for the bench as Tonali + Bennancer can work good. Hope we offload Kessie soon cause this is reminding me a lot of Biglia now.

  2. Sell in Jan, loan someone in till the end of the season to cover injuries (we are unlikely to be in Europe so rotation isn’t a thing), then go into next season with Tonali and Bennacer well drilled with Bakayoko, Adil, and Pobega as options.

    Sounds good to me.

  3. He’s become a problem alright.

He needs to sit on the bench until this is resolved, either by selling him or the slim chance he renews and gets his focus back.

  4. A real shame. If he goes we need to replace him properly, not with Bakayoko. Need someone who can do the box to box as well as Kessie can.

  5. I would still like for Kessie to stay, he’s obviously not performing that well at the moment but we can’t forget about last season. But if he wants to leave or doesn’t sign an extension at a reasonable salary before Jan, then I just want him to be sold in Jan for whatever we can get. We’ll be out of Europe by then anyway so we can focus on the league, with Bennacer and Tonali as starters and Krunic/Baka as their subs, we’ll manage till next season.

If he leaves I hope he goes to PSG, that’ll be a laugh seeing both him and Donnarumma on the bench.

  6. Agree Kessie at the top of his game is a starter, but he is not that and is a liability. Making one mental error after another. And no more driving runs. All of a sudden he is a one touch master or makes lateral passes. He is playing not to get hurt, that can only explain why he rarely runs more than a few metres with the ball to feet. I would not start him and put him into games when he can’t change the outcome from a win to a tie or loss.

  7. Hes playing like a player that’s worth 4 mil a season max, when up against the big teams that’s when you expect a player on 8 million to stand out not make costly mistakes or fluff important chances, hes just not that. No way we should give him anything like that 8 million hes asking for based on his performances. Its just madness that his agent is even asking for that kind of money UNLESS some other club has already told him they will give him that, if that’s the case then let him go. Milan should go for that Kamara kid from Marseille and he would cost a fraction of the outlay needed on Kessie

  8. It’s a tough one to take but clubs do need to make a stand against players and agents who feel like they’re above the club as a whole. Gigio and Hakan have gone to other clubs and the grass isn’t greener on the other side. More teams should take a stand instead of worrying about being held hostage over money when EVERY player is expendable.

  9. Well, if I were the management of Milan, I will let him leave this January. Coach Pioli should brace up his mind and prepare for change. I feel Marin (Cagliari) can be loaned with a Pobega (Torino) return. While Joao Pedro (Cagliari) too could come in with Belotti (Torino) so the team can have enough cover, while Bakayoko should return to Chelsea this summer after Adli (Bordeaux) has been well evaluated once he joins in January.

Sell Romagnoli as well this January once his contract too isn’t complete, then we loan either Cecchrini or Calabresi, to complete the back four of Kjaer, Tomori, Gabbia, Mr X.

Also sell Conti, Samu and let hope Junior Messias and Florenzi stay strong with Faivre coming in, we good.

Ballo Toure should be loaned out for a better cover for Theo. Kerkez can be promoted or a Mr. Y loaned.

This way, we can push for the Scudetto with enough experience and cover in DF, MF and ATT.
