Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly contacted Milan, hoping to sign Franck Kessie already in January.

The Ivory Coast international’s deal with the Rossoneri expires in June 2022 and there’s reportedly a big gap between the player’s demands to renew and the offer from Milan.

Reports in Italy have suggested PSG are monitoring his situation, ready to offer the salary he wants at Parc des Princes.

Footmercato.net reports PSG director Leonardo has contacted Milan sporting director Paolo Maldini, proposing a negotiation for a move in January.

Report: Growing distance between Kessie and Milan

In this way, PSG anticipate the arrival of the Ivorian and Milan will avoid losing the player on a free transfer next summer.

Kessie has previously insisted he wants to stay at Milan for life but is currently not willing to lower his salary demands to remain in the fashion capital.

PSG are ready to offer him the requested €8m a year in order to bring the midfielder to the French capital.

  1. Maldini has an escape route – pocket some money before losing another one on free.

P$G (backed by a whole country) just keeps on throwing money while other clubs fight to survive… what has football become?

  2. Sell him for anything over 20m. It’s better than nothing.

He is irreplaceable yes, but as soon as you pay him 8m a year you have to start adjusting all the other players. That’s just impossible.

Unfortunately this is Milan‘s reality for the moment. A few years of CL money or a new owner and maybe things change for the better.

  3. I wonder if they’d pay 20 mil for him though. Wait another 6 months and get him for free, why not.

  4. 🔹🔹🔹Give chance to Italian youth. With all the foreign players what are the teams winning?? Cannot they end up more or less in the same position in the table with majority homegrown players?! 🔹🔹🔹

  5. All this nonsense really makes me laugh… do you really believe that Paul Singer, a goddamned vulture capitalist, owner of perhaps the biggest vulture fund all over the world, cannot pay 8m per season to Kessie? Or even 16? Lets put things in the right perspective, folks: he doesn’t WANT to, because he obviously could do it if he want it. Fact is he don’t give a damn about our beloved Milan, he simply dont care, its like small potatoes to a souless mogul that only see cash before his eyes. Ho this s.o.b will sell Milan as soon as possible, to someone that really cares about it. It doesn’t matter if for the wrong reasons!

  6. if you look at things from kessie perspective. they are midfielders across the league that aint better than him probably making 10-12 mil a season. for a big club you got to be able to pay players these sort of wages to keep them. otherwise you will just be a feeder club.

  7. What a sad state of affairs in two ways. (1) Milan stand to get screwed over with another great player because they cannot compete and (2) the sickening trend in football where greed rules the roost from both players and “big” clubs perspective. I love Kessie but you just knew this was inevitable. It’s sad to see Milan as a feeder club to bigger teams but the past is a millstone for sure. Maybe a couple of star signings this summer instead of too many average ones would encourage players to stay?

  8. Given the fee would be likely to be pretty small in January, Milan would probably be better keeping him rather than failing to replace him mid-season and it costing them in terms of league position.
