According to Sky Sport Italia, Obiang is on the verge of completing his move for €6m (£4.4m).The 23-year-old grew up in the Atletico Madrid youth academy before coming to Sampdoria in July 2008.

It had originally been suggested that Obiang would be involved in a swap deal with West Ham’s Ecuador international striker Enner Valencia.
Ferrero is also reportedly offering forward Stefano Okaka to Southampton.
