Sky Sport Italia claim that Brooke Norton-Cuffy is close to joining Venezia for €14m, following Juan Jesus and Pasquale Mazzocchi, with Richie Sagrado going to Genoa as part of the deal.
It is a surprising report, considering Norton-Cuffy spent much of the summer linked with clubs including Inter, Juventus, Roma, Milan, Napoli, Fiorentina, Everton, Sunderland and Fulham.
Instead, he seems prepared to make a permanent move to the Lagunari, who won the Serie B title last season and have started this term with zero points from two Serie A matches.
Norton-Cuffy ready for Venezia
According to Sky Sport italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the negotiations are at an advanced stage, and should see Norton-Cuffy come to Venezia for €14m.
As part of the arrangement, Sagrado would also go to Genoa on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Norton-Cuffy is 22 years old, a product of the Arsenal youth academy, and last season scored two goals with one assist in 29 competitive games for Genoa.
It has been a busy day for Venezia, who officially signed free agent Juan Jesus after his contract with Napoli was allowed to run down on June 30.
Current Napoli right-back Mazzocchi also agreed a move to Venezia, on loan with an obligation to buy in case of Serie A safety.
