Juventus look to have passed up Houssem Aouar as it is reported the Olympique Lyonnais midfielder is on his way to Arsenal.

Juve had long been linked with Aouar and were thought to be preparing a bid for him earlier in the summer.

However, Telefoot is claiming this evening that whereas they and Barcelona were his preferred destinations, neither made a serious offer for his services.

That would have allowed Arsenal to steal a march, with the Gunners bidding around €40m for the Frenchman.

As per Footmercato, that would be enough to take the 22-year-old to Emirates Stadium, while personal terms are said to have already been agreed between club and player.

Aouar, for his part, helped Lyon reach the Champions League semi-finals at Juve’s expense last season and has played twice so far this term.
