The Corriere dello Sport reveals that Nicola has met with President Enrico Preziosi to discuss personal terms to take over the helm at the Marassi.

Thiago Motta has not been officially sacked from the position, but he is already the second coach to lead the team this term.

Genoa started the season with Aurelio Andreazzoli at the helm and the newspaper claims that Preziosi has offered Nicola a contract until June 2020 – with an obligation to extend the deal if he manages to save the club from relegation.

Genoa are currently bottom of Serie A and four points away from safety, but the sporting director Francesco Marroccu is currently planning on bringing in the required reinforcement to give the team a better chance in their battle to survive in the top division.

The report also claims that Genoa are looking at SPAL midfielder Jasmin Kurtic, whilst Lasse Schöne could be hading to Napoli this winter.
