SportItalia reports Nahitan Nandez didn’t meet up for Cagliari’s trip to Mallorca after the Casteddu shut down the negotiations with Inter.

The Uruguay international has been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri this summer and the latter tried to include Nandez in a possible exchange deal including Radja Nainggolan’s move to Sardinia.

Cagliari shut down Inter talks for Nandez

But after weeks of talk, L’Unione Sarda claims Cagliari have suddenly scrapped all of the progress made, asking for the full €36m release clause in the midfielder’s contract.

SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports the 25-year-old has not met up to depart with the rest of the squad ahead of tonight’s match in Palma de Mallorca.

Nandez, who played five times at the Copa America, returned later for training and was given extra days off amid the possible move to Inter, but his contract with Cagliari expires in June 2024 and is now believed to have refused to travel with the Rossoblu.

The former Boca Juniors player, capped 41 times by Uruguay, arrived in August 2019 and has played 72 competitive games with the Sardinians, but is now pushing for a move away from the club.
